Summer STEM Academy Announcement

I am so excited to announce that the NDEP VDP STEM Summer Academy will be held at KGMS this summer!  This is an exciting summer camp that involves middle school student teams in a problem-based learning project which uses LEGO Mindstorm robotic kits.  All seventh and eighth grade students who have NOT participated in the camp in the past are eligible to attend.  There is NO cost to students!  Participants will only need to bring a positive attitude and a packed lunch and snack!

CAMP DATES:  June 23-27, 2015
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands on learning and work with Navy scientists and engineers to solve real-world challenges!  They will explore the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, robotics, mathematics, and so much more!  Past camp activities have included underwater sonar mapping, water rocketry, biowarfare simulations, rail gun demonstrations, tower design and construction, and guest speakers.

Information packets and permission forms are available from your child's science teacher.  They are due by April 24th.  Space is very limited!
